MATTEO BELLI
Matteo is active in Italy and in the United States. Visual arts and drama are powerful sources of inspiration in some of his works, with three ongoing projects dedicated to Picasso, Shakespeare and Tarkovsky respectively. His music has been played by Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, Camere Contemporanee, Altre Voci Ensemble, EMC “L.Dallapiccola”, DMC Ensemble (Scuola di Musica di Fiesole), as well as by solo performers.

Matteo Belli (Florence, b. 1987) is a multi-award-winning composer and performer.
He delves into visual arts, literature, drama, and contemporary issues as meaningful sources of inspiration and challenge.

His music has been commissioned/presented by Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence), Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina (Florence), Teatro Amazonas (Brazil), Dartmouth College (USA), Fondazione Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte (Montepulciano), Altre Voci Ensemble (Italy), Ensemble di Musica Contemporanea “L.Dallapiccola” (Florence), DMC Ensemble at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Florence), DUOroboros (Tuscany), Talea Ensemble (USA).
Mr. Belli worked as music director, teacher, assistant orchestral conductor, principal coach, and accompanist in several theaters and institutions, also programming and producing several concert series. Currently, he is an ABD doctoral candidate in Composition at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where he managed concerts and virtual residencies with renowned ensembles and players within the contemporary music scene.
